Loving and Losing Beyond and Above Political Borders / Gideon Menda______At the heart of existential thinking is the idea that others are seen as human beings, regardless of faith, origin, or religion. Through these ontological truths, we are challenged to acknowledge that regardless of our residence or culture, we share a similar language—the language of existentialism. This language extends above and beyond borders and holds greater power than the spoken word. It is a language through which we can realize, once again, the virtues of empathy and care that lie within our core. Therefore, a close examination within ourselves will reveal that it is not solely about loving, nor merely about losing, but rather, all about living—living and communicating through the language of existential thinking. Thus we, as existential therapists, assume a crucial role: reminding all of the language within—the ontological language that is deeply familiar but all too often forgotten.
